History Alley dedicated to JOHN GALLAGHER, author of The Battle of Brooklyn -- 1776

At the Old Stone House, the Maryland 400 Brigade gave their lives in The Battle of Brooklyn -- 1776, the 1st battle of the American Revolutionary War, holding off over 2,000 troups long enough for Washington and his Army to escape across the East River to Manhattan, saving his army and our fledgling Republic.
